It’s the big days that get planned for. The birthday, the new baby, the family get-together. But it’s usually the bit in between that I end up loving the most. A kid mid-sentence. Someone laughing at something no one else caught. A hand reaching for another without thinking about it.
That’s what I’m actually looking for when I’m photographing your family. Not everyone lined up and smiling. The parts that are just true to how your family actually is.
I shoot mostly outdoors around Melbourne’s west, though maternity and newborn sessions are often easiest at home. Your family as it is right now. That’s what I’m here for.

who keeps things relaxed
I shoot outdoor family photography around Melbourne’s west, in natural light, using favourite spots like Williamstown Botanic Gardens, Altona Beach and the Altona Pier foreshore.
I love the light out here, and the colours in the bushland. Each spot has so much variety in it too, open lawns, tucked away corners, water, trees, which means I can get a real range of shots all in the same location.
These spots also just work for young kids. There’s always something to climb, poke at or wander off toward, which makes for a natural, easy session. Full sessions run for about an hour, and shorter morning mini sessions are also available and work well for littler ones.

Those first few weeks go fast. Tiny yawns, sleepy hands, a big sibling getting a bit too enthusiastic with the cuddles. I photograph it all as it happens, outdoors or at home.
Kids change so much, so quickly. My family sessions are about capturing them at this age, the little sayings, the funny faces, the way they still want a piggyback. All the stuff you’ll want to remember.
A maternity session is a chance to capture the bump, and mark where your family’s at right now before everything changes again. If you’ve got older kids, we can bring them in too, part family session, part maternity.
